As you can imagine, all our guests had to cancel or reschedule when the pandemic started. Since then, the villa has been almost empty, and so has Playa del Carmen.
First, we want to update you on the current travel situation in Playa and the Riviera Maya in general. Then, we want to share with you how we have managed and what good things have come from COVID-19 for us.

As for the villa, this pause has been allowing all of us that work at Downtown Villa to stay at home and enjoy our families. From the beginning of the crisis we decided that our way to help was going to be by not laying anyone off, no matter the cost. This has not been easy, but has certainly been positive for everyone.
We have also been implementing strict sanitary protocols. Many of them will remain after the pandemic is over. Such protocols have made us rethink some of our services, as well as come up with new ideas for our guests.
We have also been working on maintenance issues that need more time than we generally have between guests.
Finally, we have all had time to rest, even the villa.
So, we are ready for you, we miss you, and we are patiently waiting for the world and for you to be able to come back and live the experience!
Stay safe. Worry less, beach more.
